Diocesan Marian Conference Set for Oct. 11

The Diocese of Tyler will hold its annual Marian Conference on Saturday, October 11, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bishop Gorman Regional Catholic School in Tyler.

The Family Under the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the theme for this year’s conference according to organizers Fr. John-Mary Bowlin and Fr. Raymundo Garcia.

The scheduled presentations are:

  • The Holy Family of Nazareth and Our Families (Deacon Jerry Besze and Fr. Luis Larrea)
  • The Blessed Virgin Mary and God’s Plan for the Family (Fr. Justin Braun and Fr. Ariel Cortes)
  • Mary Present in Our Diocesan Family, Homes, Movements and Devotions (Fr. Patrick Fenton and Dcn. Jesus Reyes)

The mission of the Diocesan Marian Conference is to foster and promote true and authentic devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Organizers’ sincere wish is that everyone who attends the Conference is edified by the presentations and performances of the speakers and entertainers and leave with a more fervent love for God, our holy Catholic faith and our Blessed Mother.

All sessions will be available in both English and Spanish.

Bishop Joseph E. Strickland will celebrate a Holy Mass at the Chapel of Sts. Peter & Paul to open the day.
