The Diocese of Tyler’s Office of Marriage & Family Life has announced its schedule of marriage preparation days and weekends for 2015.
These sessions, held in both English and Spanish, are designed to give couples preparing for marriage the tools that will help them live out a faithful, permanent and fruitful commitment.
January 31, 2015 – Marriage Prep Day
February 7, 2015 – World Marriage Day Anniversary Mass
March 6-8, 2015 – Marriage Prep Weekend
May 16, 2015 – Marriage Prep Day
August 8, 2015 – Marriage Prep Day
October 9-11, 2015 – Marriage Prep Weekend
The Marriage Preparation Day is a day-long retreat designed to give couples an opportunity to focus entirely on each other, and to dialogue honestly and intensively about their future life together. Interfaith couples, as well as those who are both Catholic, are welcome.
The day is facilitated by a married couple trained in marriage ministry. Some topics covered include: personality styles, family of origin, communication, conflict resolution, faith issues, finances, children and family, marital sexuality, and God’s design for marriage—the marriage covenant.
Registration and more information about marriage preparation can be found on the Marriage & Family Life website.
The Church holds marriage to be a serious and sacred commitment that requires careful consideration and preparation.
