The five-night mission will center around the topic of “Christ Our God Truth Incarnate” and will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening.
Fr. George McInnis of the Fathers of Mercy will lead the mission.
“At a time when Pope Francis has so frequently preached about mercy, and even recently announced a Jubilee of Mercy, we are blessed to have Fr. George come to Our Lady of Victory to help prepare us for this solemn celebration,” said Fr. Stoeppel.
Fr. George McInnis was born in 1978 and is a native of Middleburg, Ken. Fr. George and his family converted to the Catholic faith in 1987. In 1998 Fr. George joined the Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy and was ordained to the priesthood in 2007. He is a 2007 graduate of Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut where he earned a B.A. in philosophy and a Master of Divinity degree.
The well-known Fathers of Mercy have been preaching missions since 1808, beginning in France where they were called to restore the Faith after the upheavals and persecutions of the French Revolution. Their mission is to bring the Mercy of God to the prodigal children of our times.
