The Diocese of Tyler will host the first East Texas Sanctity of Life Banquet on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 at the Holiday Inn – South Broadway in Tyler.
Bishop Joseph E. Strickland will be the featured speaker for the event which is being held to promote the dignity of all human life, including the unborn, those with special needs, the elderly, the poor and the imprisoned.
The event is open to the entire community, including ministers of all faiths and political leaders. It begins at 6:30 p.m. and concludes by 8 p.m.
“In America today, it no longer seems self-evident that we are endowed by our Creator with an unalienable right to life,” said Bishop Strickland. “Let’s come together and witness to this great truth. The time is right for all of us, regardless our faith background, to give a united witness to the sanctity of life by proclaiming that every life is a gift uniquely given by God and so has a sacred dignity.”
According to banquet chair Kendall Barclay of Tyler, the banquet will provide interested people from our area the opportunity to gather for a pleasant meal and some fellowship while working to save the unborn, support families, bring healing to the hurting, and educate and engage our community to respect and defend life from conception to natural death.
Tickets, which include dinner and admission, are available online at easttexaslifebanquet.com. Individual tickets are $40 and tables are available for $400.
