Deacons Christian Corona and Christopher Orajiaka will be ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Tyler by Bishop Gregory Kelly on June 28. The ordination Mass will be at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler at 10 a.m.

Born in Chicago, Deacon Christian Corona grew up in Sulphur Springs. After graduating from high school, Corona entered Holy Trinity Seminary and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dallas. He completed his seminary formation in Rome at the Pontifical North America College and was ordained a transitional deacon on October 3, 2024. 

Deacon Christopher Orajiaka studied electrical and electronics engineering at the University of East London. After spending some time as a working professional, Orajiaka entered the seminary for the Diocese of Tyler. He studied at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and was ordained a transitional deacon on December 18, 2024.
