The Diocese of Tyler is pleased to announce the recent appointments of Adam Goduto as Director of Development and Rita Martinez as Director of Faith Formation. These new leaders bring decades of experience and a shared commitment to the mission of the Church in East Texas.
Adam Goduto began his service in May as Director of Development. A seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in advancement and fundraising, Adam most recently served as the Executive Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations at the University of Texas at Tyler. His background in higher education development equips him well to lead our diocesan efforts in stewardship, major gifts, and donor engagement. A Chicago native and a parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler, Adam brings both professional expertise and a personal dedication to the life of the local Church.
Rita Martinez will begin her role as Director of Faith Formation this month. A veteran catechetical leader with over four decades of ministry experience, Rita has served in parish faith formation, youth ministry, Catholic schools, and diocesan leadership, including work in developing catechetical frameworks and sacramental guidelines. She currently serves as President of the Federation of Catechesis with Hispanics and has worked extensively in bilingual catechetical publishing and consultation. A native of San Antonio, Rita brings deep pastoral insight to her new role in forming disciples across the diocese.
“These new appointments are a gift to our local Church. I look forward to working with Adam and Rita for the good of the church in the Diocese of Tyler. They each bring not only experience as proven leaders, but a heart for mission,” said Bishop Gregory Kelly. “I know they will be eager to get to know the diocese and to see how they can best help us all grow as missionary disciples of hope. I ask you to join me in prayer for them, for a good beginning to their work here in the Diocese of Tyler, and to welcome them with the same spirit of hospitality and generosity with which you have welcomed me as your shepherd.”
With 67 parishes and missions across 33 counties in northeast Texas, the Diocese of Tyler is committed to forming faithful disciples, building vibrant communities, and advancing the Church’s mission in East Texas.
