2027 Bishop's Appeal for Ministries
Be conformed to Christ! Go out to the world!
Carry Our Mission Forward
Guided by Bishop Gregory Kelly, this appeal makes it possible to continue fostering faith by sharing the Good News of the Gospel through ministries such as diocesan faith formation programs, ministry to prisoners, college campus ministry, and more.
For 40 years, the faithful of East Texas have carried forward a shared mission. The Diocese of Tyler was established on December 12, 1986, by Pope St. John Paul II. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we honor the faithful men and women who were conformed to Christ and went out into the world to share His love. Today, Bishop Gregory Kelly leads us in carrying that mission forward through the ministries supported by the Bishop’s Appeal, and through faithful people like you. Your contributions, through financial support, prayer, or service, helps bring the charity of Christ to people throughout East Texas. Will you join us in this mission?
Your gifts made an impact!
In 2026, $2.6 million in Bishop’s Appeal funds supported ministries that form disciples, strengthen families, care for those in need, and bring Christ to communities throughout East Texas.
Your Support Matters
Gifts to the Bishop’s Appeal sustain ministries that form disciples, strengthen families, serve communities, and draw people throughout East Texas closer to Christ. In 2027, Bishop Gregory Kelly invites each of our 125,000 Catholic households to participate in the Bishop’s Appeal through prayer, service or a gift of any size. Together, the faithful of our 54 parishes, 14 missions, and six Catholic schools seek to raise more than $2.6 million to sustain and expand these vital ministries throughout the Diocese of Tyler.
