After due consultation and prayerful reflection, and in order to provide for the proper care of souls entrusted to him, Bishop Joseph E. Strickland is pleased to announce the following pastoral assignments and appointments for the Diocese of Tyler.

All assignments are effective September 1, 2021, unless otherwise noted.

PASTOR

Very Rev. Francis O’Dowd assigned as pastor of St. Theresa in Gladewater and administrator of Our Lady Queen of Angels Mission in Overton (from pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in Daingerfield).

PAROCHIAL ADMINISTRATOR

Rev. Roselio Fuentes assigned as parochial administrator of Our Lady of Grace Mission in Hallsville (from parochial vicar of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler).

Rev. Eugene Tillekeratne, SSS assigned as parochial administrator of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Daingerfield (from administrator of Our Lady of Grace in Hallsville)

PRIEST-IN-RESIDENCE

Rev. Juan Pedro Gonzalez assigned as priest-in-residence at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler while completing studies in canon law (from full-time studies at the Pontifical University of Mexico).

OTHER

Rev. John Robison Thason, an extern priest in service in the diocese, will be joining the clinical pastoral education program at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital (from administrator of St. Theresa in Gladewater and administrator of Our Lady Queen of Angels Mission in Overton), effective August 15.
