On August 7th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palestine, Dr. Luke Arredondo, Director of Faith Formation for the St. Philip Institute and Mr. Philip Smith, Director of Lifelong Faith Formation at Sacred Heart in Nacogdoches, presented a training to 47 catechists from the southwest deanery. The catechists were led in two sessions of biblical formation. Arredondo offered sessions in Spanish, while Smith led the sessions in English.

Later that afternoon, 19 baptism coordinators from the southwest deanery attended a training on The Way of the Holy Family, the standard baptismal formation materials for the Diocese of Tyler. 

Arredondo and the St. Philip Institute will be offering another training on the baptism materials at Sacred Heart Nacogdoches, September 11th, 2021 beginning at 10 a.m. The session will end by noon and will be in English only.
