On May 13, 1917, the Blessed Mother appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal. She would appear to these children once a month for the next six months. In the last of these apparitions on October 13, 1917, the day known for “the Miracle of the Sun”, the Blessed Mother revealed herself as the Lady of the Rosary. Throughout her appearances to the three Fatima children, the Blessed Mother asked the faithful to pray the Rosary more frequently.

In response to this call, Texas Needs Fatima, a new ministry recently started in the Diocese of Tyler, has organized Rosary rallies throughout the diocese. There will be monthly Rosary Rallies across the diocese from May to October.

The first Rosary Rally will be held in Lufkin on May 13, 2022, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, and will include a procession.

The Rosary Rally and procession will take place at 6pm at the Angelina County Courthouse (215 E. Lufkin Ave. Lufkin, TX 75901) and will be led by Fr. Denzel Vithanage from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lufkin.

All are welcome to attend.
