On the Solemnity of Pentecost, Bishop Gregory Kelly has issued his first pastoral letter to the people of the Diocese of Tyler, titled “…until Christ be Formed in You.” In this letter, Bishop Kelly reflects on his first 100 days as bishop and shares a vision for the Church in East Texas rooted in hope, unity, and missionary discipleship.
A pastoral letter is a teaching and guiding message from the bishop to the faithful in his diocese. It invites prayer, reflection, and action on matters important to the spiritual life of the local Church. In this case, Bishop Kelly offers encouragement and direction as we face the challenges of a rapidly changing culture with renewed faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All are invited to read the letter and reflect on how we can respond together to Christ’s call in our time and place.
