Witness to Love and Beyond: A Workshop for Parish Marriage Formation Leaders

Marriage Formation is an essential parish ministry that seeks to accompany couples on their journey to the sacrament and into missionary discipleship. This workshop is an opportunity for all parish marriage formation leaders to gather for renewal, clarity, and encouragement. 
During our time together, we will:

• Review the diocesan process for marriage formation, including specific guidelines for engaged and civilly married couples.
• Explore practical ways to enhance and deepen the impact of the Witness to Love process in your parish.
• Discuss best practices for accompanying our couples well, from the first meeting to their wedding day, and beyond.
• Provide an opportunity for you to ask questions, share challenges, and learn from other parish leaders in our diocese.

This workshop is ideal for parishes that need a “refresher” on the what, why and how of the marriage formation process, as well as for those just beginning to implement Witness to Love. The workshop will be led by Deanna Johnston (Director of Family Life) and Norma Alzamora (Marriage Formation Specialist and Witness to Love Parish Support Team Leader). Bishop Kelly will also join us to offer encouragement and support.

Note: Parish leaders will get the most out of this workshop if at least one person from your parish team already completed the online Witness to Love training. If you are unable to complete the online training prior to attending you are still welcome to join us for this workshop.
