Commemorating Black Catholic Witnesses: St. Patrick Parish in Lufkin is hosting a celebration commemorating Black Catholic witnesses to the Christian Faith and American dream. The celebration will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026 and begin at 10:00 a.m. with Mass celebrated by Bishop Gregory Kelly at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center (601 N. Second St., Lufkin, TX 75904). There will be a soul food lunch following the Mass and a historical presentation of the African Diaspora within the Catholic Church. Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass: All couples in the Diocese of Tyler who are celebrating an anniversary that ends in 0 or 5 or 50 or more years of marriage in the year 2026 are cordially invited to attend the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on Saturday, February 14, 2026 celebrated by Bishop Gregory Kelly. The Mass will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (423 S Broadway Ave, Tyler, TX 75702). There will be a reception at the Cathedral Center following the Mass. For God Alone Retreat with the Lufkin Dominican Sisters: The Dominican Sisters at the Monastery of the Infant Jesus in Lufkin are hosting a series of retreat days for college age women. These retreats will follow the monastic schedule with the nuns. The dates for upcoming retreat days are February 21, 2026, April 11, 2026, and June 6, 2026 from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Feel free to attend more than one retreat. This retreat day will help women get away from the busy world and be alone with the Lord. Catechist Lenten Retreats: All faith formation leaders and catechists in the Diocese of Tyler are invited to a Lenten Retreat hosted by the Office of Faith Formation. There will be an English and Spanish retreat. Join other catechists for this opportunity to come together in prayer, reflection, and renewal as we prepare our hearts for the season of Lent and the joy of Easter. This retreat invites participants to step away from daily distractions and rest in the presence of Christ through faith, fellowship, and spiritual growth. The English Retreat is on March 14, 2026 from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. The Spanish Retreat is on March 28, 2026 from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Both retreats will be in the St. Paul Meeting Room at the Diocesan Chancery in Tyler.
