The Diocese recognizes the importance of forming all married couples, from newlyweds to empty nesters, to live out their vocation in holiness and joy! As St. John Paul II famously said, “As goes the family, so goes the nation, and so goes the entire world in which we live.” It is of crucial importance that families in the Church are empowered to understand and live out their vocation.

To promote greater formation for couples, the St. Philip Institute and the St. John Paul II Foundation are working together to bring the second Together in Holiness marriage enrichment conference to the Diocese of Tyler on Saturday, October 23. The conference will take place from 10:45 am – 4:30 pm and will be hosted at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Longview. This year’s conference will focus on “Family, a Domestic Church” with inspiring keynote presentations from Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, Sister Josephine Garrett, CSFN, and more. This one-day conference will also include Eucharistic Adoration, Reconciliation, Vigil Mass celebrated by Bishop Strickland, and on-site childcare.

The following are just a few of the positive comments from attendees of the 2019 event:

“I expected this to be a good conference, but it honestly exceeded my and my husband’s expectations. We were so excited to have practical suggestions for growing together in our prayer lives that we could discuss afterward. Thank you for the work you’re doing to put on these conferences!”

“My spouse and I recognize that our Catholic faith is strong individually but lacking prayer together in our home and family. Together in Holiness strengthened our commitment to one another to make prayer together happen.”

“It was so helpful to have gained practical suggestions for praying with Scripture in our marriage, and we were excited to start discussing how and when we’re going to implement the suggestions.”

Affordable on-site childcare will be available for children ages 2-12, and scholarships are available upon request. The Foundation and the St. Philip Institute are committed to ensuring that Together in Holiness is accessible to all couples.
