The Diocese of Tyler celebrated World Marriage Day with the annual Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler.

All couples in the diocese celebrating their 5th, 15th, 25th, 40th, or 50th+ wedding anniversaries in the year 2023 were invited. Over 70 couples from across the diocese registered to attend this event.

In his homily, Bishop Joseph Strickland encouraged the couples to lean into the grace of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, reminding them that the graces of the sacrament are not something they received only the day of their wedding, but every day of their married life.

He also emphasized how the Eucharist is the source of nourishment for all marriages. “The Body of Christ is nurturing your marriage,” Bishop Strickland said. “Trust that the Eucharist helps you to live out your married life.”

A special thank you to the Altar Society of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for organizing the beautiful reception after the Mass.
